History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Conrad was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. A freak accident while working with his Armorer mother left him crippled. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

History: Malquis hails from a village terrorized by giants. She worked as a nervous Shipwright and found it very stressful. She has set out to sabotage the competition.
