She was preparing to flee to the east, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her father from journeying east to reunite her family. She has became unsatisfied with her lot in life, and decided to take up adventuring.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Through the years after Jacoba was born, her father became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Jacoba's father didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
