History: Kerkad hails from a village terrorized by giants. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and a rival would like him out of the picture
