History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He got away from his former life and has fallen to alcoholism.

History: Born to a Cartwright, his mother struggled to pay the bills. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has since married many spouses, only to have them die. He claims to not be responsible.

She wears rectangular glasses with silver brims.

Personality: She never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. She is able to make almost anything out of random pieces of junk.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Shadow was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. Some 6 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Shadow never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her son whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.
