History: Tawar lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. From there she went from mercenary job to mercenary job. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: A need for knowledge about a nearby landmark.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Marshal and was forced into it by his family; and retire the richest man in the east

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He always admired necromantic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He was granted necromantic powers by his dying brother.
