History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a daughter. Some 10 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Adelard never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

History: She was born several months after her mother was called into army service. Her mother was a soldier and died while she was still young. Alain was left her mother's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. Some 5 years later her spouse died after the birth of her son. Heartbroken, Alain never married again.
