History: A child with a great deal of music talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She has chosen to use the inheritance that was left to her frivolously. After months of barely getting by, Shanairla managed to ambush a major caravan with a load of valuables. Instantly wealthy, she made her way to the capital under a new identity.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help; and a rival would like her out of the picture

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Malquis was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. While she appears to be a normal Elf, she's... not quite right. Perhaps she's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that she plain doesn't fit in. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.
