The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Claira took refuge in the ruined castle and found the beat up lance and armor she uses now. She then took over the family business and is one of the better Hunter for hire.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. A gifted student he started as a Ploughman, but he got bored and became a Dyer. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Gunnloda's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She is fiercely devoted to her father, and views her father's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-sister.

History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. She leaves a trail of broken hearts and full pockets wherever she goes.
