So far, no-one knows but him.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: He'd like to take his coworkers down a peg; and doesn't want to be a assassin and was forced into it by his family
