Personality: Nella hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate her. It was this clingy personality that held back her poetry career. She disdains her fellow easterners, claiming they make her look unintelligent just for using an accent.

History: She was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. In her youth she was part of a gang. She got caught, but did not rat out her comrades and served her time in prison. She has never given up on her poetry dream.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. He sought a place where he would be rewarded solely on the merits of his skills. This search led him directly into Navigator work with an outfit from a few towns over. Navigator work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. He has achieved small success as a Navigator.

Personality: He is irascible and easily irritated. He is lazy, self-centered, vain, and jealous.

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Through the years after Ar-Kaius was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Ar-Kaius's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. Some 10 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Ar-Kaius never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his mother had trained him before.
