History: Sarai lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Sarai alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: He does not believe in betrayal or weakness as things to be tolerated. He is accommodating to his spouse and as such limits his hospitality. He is brave and levelheaded in the face of danger and has proven himself a capable leader.

History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Abad was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. Unlike his family, who was content to work in a sleepy main town, he wanted to work in the city. He has been working here for the past few years.

She wears a mask on her face.

Personality: She misses her glory days as an athlete. She does not mind her job, but it is boring in comparison. She is fiercely devoted to her mother, and views her mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating her from her legal half-sister.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She helped her mother out around the business and became quite the natural. She has achieved small success as a Shoemaker.
