History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Alex was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. She sought a place where she would be rewarded solely on the merits of her skills. This search led her directly into Engraver work with an outfit from a few towns over. Engraver work suited her well, and with each successful project, she earned more gold and more respect from her peers. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
