History: Baz was born with his father's beautiful face. A gifted student he started as a Bowyer, but he got bored and became a Cartwright. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: She fancies herself a trickster and likes to rely on her wits to carry the day. She cares for her older siblings and likes to be recognized by them. She is kind towards other women and children and will generally offer women help without question. Others will generally need to prove themselves to her.

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Theirastra was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her mother was a mechanic, and taught her how to fix just about anything. She now mingles about in high society.
