Personality: She is quite rude, and likes to deride her opponents skill and shout insults at them. She is a great chef.

History: Sold as a small child to a necromancer, Valanthe was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Her homeland was ravaged by war and she spent much of her life rebuilding it. After a long history of fighting, Valanthe and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: The child of western immigrants he idolized his father. His childhood dream was to be a Bather, but he was a colossal failure. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: She has a massive crush on the younger sibling of the Spy who has hired her part-time. Animals are drawn to her, and she is able to talk to them.

History: She is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. Since her father passed away years ago, her mother had doted on her, and she came to think her herself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by her attractiveness, a trait in which she easily excels the other women of her town. She has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Brewer. She hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.
