History: Quick lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the north, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the north for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way south. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Marshal they were divorced and she won custody of their son. She worked as a Shipwright, and she later adopted a second son.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Through the years after Chem was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Chem's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has set out to sabotage the competition.
