History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way east. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

Motivation: Regain custody of his son; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

Personality: She goes out her way to put a smile on everyone's face. There's no-one she won't accept into her heart. She is cautious and jumpy. She reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.

Motivation: Wants to have a good time and be beloved; and she desires power and/or immortality

Personality: She is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. To her fellows she is seen as friendly and intelligent, but is angry and unforgiving to the so called fatcats and any who do and have associated with them.

History: She was raised in a mountains tribe. As a young child she wandered into the woods despite her father's warnings against it. Afterwards she claimed she had encountered brigands who tried to eat her hand. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: A deep hatred of brigands; and she wants revenge against brigands

Description: She is of a modest build and height, but she carries herself more imposing than she is. She wears well tailored gowns and hats with beautiful decoration. She is almost always dressed for an outing in high society. Her silver hair is greying along the sides and has receded to reveal a widow's peak. She wears crescent spectacles with a black brim.

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic woman, Tordrid's first love is herself. Her second love is also herself. She cannot deal with unfamiliar people for more than a few minutes at a time and if they persist she will grow angry at them.

History: She grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Her mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted her to inherit them. She has gone from town to town till she finds a spot where she can set up a sustainable business.

Motivation: She is unsatisfied with her job; and sabotage a competitor
