She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

When his father died while fighting illithids, the young Ralf began to lead the lost caravan. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Through the years after Verin was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Verin's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.
