History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Manfred was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Through the years after Thorpe was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Thorpe's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
