He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

The war was a terrible time for her, and Valanthe does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
