History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Alain was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Through the years after Alain was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Alain's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. Some 10 years later her spouse died after the birth of her daughter. Heartbroken, Alain never married again. Instead she focused her life to raising her daughter whom she trained as her mother had trained her before.

When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone.
