When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

Abad decided to take the middle way and become a bodyguard. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
