History: Her father raised her in a mountain cabin. In her 15th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Matilda alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. Days after completing her studies, news broke out that her hometown was attacked by dire rats. Matilda was horrified and prayed that her father was alright. However, she heard that her father had died fighting off the dire rats.

History: He was born in a small forest village. There was a wharf not far from home where he often wandered off to fish. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by orcs, and he desires to right it
