History: Born to a poor family in the city he treasured whatever gifts he got. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Marshal. He has worked as a Marshal like his mother before him.

History: He got into the Cook business at a young age. He inherited a moderately successful company from his mother. Under his leadership it has flourished, and using capital from his venture he effectively owns an entire region. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: To reunite with his absent mother; and doesn't want to be a cook and was forced into it by his family

History: Lorilla lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Being born in the south, she completed her medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. She returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. She was a general practitioner in the south for years, until she, through no fault of her own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal she made her way west. She routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Motivation: Regain custody of her son; and her spouse's relatives view her with great suspicion
