He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: Born in the west to a Interpreter, Emma learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. Like her father and her sister before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Interpreter. During her travels, Emma and her party rested in a cavern that was (unknown to them) infused with powerful dark magic. Upon awakening, Emma discovered the rest of her party dead, transformed into horrible, mindless undead versions of their former selves. Emma fled the cavern, stopping for breath at a small pool, and only then realizing her own horrible transformation.
