Personality: She is very quiet and rarely speaks above a whisper. She takes great joy in being the best Shepherd in town.

History: She was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of her parents. Like her mother and her brother before her, after school she went straight into learning to become a Shepherd. She now owns her own business.

History: Born in the north to a Barrister, Emerald learned a great deal about her mother's area of expertise. She has had some formal writing training, and achieved minor success. She has never given up on her writing dream.

Motivation: She'd like to take her coworkers down a peg.

Description: He stands about 6'5" and is wearing a perfectly clean shirt and pair of pants. His right leg appears badly burned and disfigured. His hair is long and brown with streaks of silver, and is pulled back with small white clips. His beard is silver, braided, and well cared for. He is very pretty but has cold, dead eyes.

Personality: He goes out his way to put a smile on everyone's face. There's no-one he won't accept into his heart. He is fiercely devoted to his mother, and views his mother's ex-spouse as an evil person for separating him from his legal half-brother.

History: Born to a Bookbinder, his mother struggled to pay the bills. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Bookbinder they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Fortune-teller, and he later adopted a second daughter.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and his spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion
