History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, River was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She eventually got the idea of being the protector of her homeland from reading books, and has made it her duty.

History: A powerful brothel owner made her what she is. She couldn't stand her childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with her mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: Sabotage a competitor.

Personality: She seems absolutely devoid of it. She stares off into space and will respond with overly literal and minimalist answers to questions. She lacks restraint and is impulsive. She jumps in and acts without thinking all too often.

History: She was born in the east. A few years later when the south was not economically sound they moved to her current location. When her spouse passed she lost her only source of income but claims to her daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: Wants to have a good time and be beloved; and her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage
