Because her mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, drow burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. She was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented her and her father from journeying west to reunite her family. She moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Through the years after Theodoric was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Theodoric's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
