History: Gerard hails from a village terrorized by illithids. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Gerard alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many illithids want him driven away.

History: Born in the north to a Engraver, Duvamil learned a great deal about her father's area of expertise. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital.
