History: Born the oldest of a large religious northern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered north to less war torn lands. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. He always admired martial-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

Description: A middle-aged man, he wears tight fitting pants and leather jackets. He usually doesn't wear a shirt, and is pretty ugly. His silver hair is unkempt and raggedy. His face is feral with sharp distinguishing features. His spectacle hidden eyes are a deep white.

Personality: Astar is depressed about a lot of things. He tends to be a nihilist. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Astar is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His mother was very strict, and drilled into him lessons on being the perfect gentleman. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
