Her parents divorced when she was young, and her father gained full cudstody. She was regularly beaten by her father, who blamed her for driving them apart. She has drifted apart from her friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature mace.

Personality: She is shy and timid. She has not had much interaction with people and is skittish around them. She is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: She comes from a rich northern family. She struck it rich when she found rare goods in large quantities. She remains aloof and afraid to be herself due to all the ideals others have placed upon her.

Personality: She hates dire rats. She views them as having robbed her home of its proper glory. She never wears the same outfit twice, unless she absolutely has to.

History: Sarai lived on a farm with her father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. In her 13th year, her parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Sarai alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

Personality: She will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken her opponents. Despite her formidable combat skills she remains a coward. Sumnes is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her sisters into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: Born in a small village she learned the ways of the warrior from her mother. She was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. She never won. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.
