He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by dire rats, and he desires to right it; and several ex partners dislike his way of doing things and want revenge
