History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. In her 16th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Volen alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to giants demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. In his 17th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage.
