History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Ahlyssa was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. In her 14th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her mother impaled in their home, and her father beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: Quiet and reserved he prefers to listen than to talk. He will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. He has no love for corruption and racketeering and views those as crimes of the highest magnitude.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Server. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Personality: She can speak with the dead, and doesn't see much difference between the living and dead. She would rather hide behind her crafts than deal with other people.

History: A child with a great deal of music talent her parents made sure she got the chance to thrive. She moved out north to avoid the crime she committed. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: She feels that her past leaves her morally obligated to help.

Voice: High pitched and raspy

Description: A man of a pale complexion, he is well dressed, but even with his fine clothing he looks run-down. He has no hair. His otherwise smooth face is marked with small tiny scars.

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He misses his home and complains about the freezing weather, even in summer.

History: When he was but 6 years old his parents immigrated from the north. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Dean grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Dean. By chance he met his brother recently and the two have been together since.

Motivation: To be a Scribe again; and a rival would like him out of the picture
