When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Dilettante hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Sorcerer in service of a powerful lord somewhere. A few years later when the west was not economically sound they moved to her current location. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.
