History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Rolen was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered east to less war torn lands. After a long history of fighting, Rolen and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: Nothing but the best is good enough for him; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world
