History: From birth she was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Her family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. She saw this and took pride in her mother's willingness to do anything to win. She was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching her a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: She was a bastard born out of an affair, and her mother always resented and mistreated her for it out of spite. She took after her mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, her mother taught her to defend herself. When her mother died while fighting brigands, the young Paela began to lead the lost caravan. When she grew older, she became a bit more civilized, usually hanging around bars and taverns. She began work as a mercenary for hire. She would embark on any mission as long as the price was right.
