History: She was born several months after her father was called into army service. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Dalaba was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: The child of western immigrants she idolized her mother. She moved from fad to fad and when she turned 15 she discovered writing. She has been saving her money to try and buy her brother's freedom.

History: Ahrim lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.
