History: She was born in the north, but her parents moved at a very young age to the south. Her parents died when she was young, and she was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Verna grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Verna. Being a Apothecary kept her interest for a while, but then she became depressed and bored. So she turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

History: Trained by her mother for as long as she can remember she had it drilled in her head that it was her duty to serve her country. She was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. Her spouse died of illness and she inherited everything. She now spends her time doing works of charity.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Her father was a soldier and died while she was still young. Kali was left her father's suit of armor and trained in its use and care. She found several beat up suits of armor and, cannibalizing spare parts, she put together a working one.

Motivation: She wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and balancing her hectic life and new baker responsibilities is difficult

History: Theobald hails from a village terrorized by orcs. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Human conditions. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.
