History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Hugolina was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. She eventually earned her freedom when her former master disappeared. Hugolina liked to wander the woods near her home when she was young, something she still likes to do at least once a week. She never liked modest clothing or shoes, so she would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and she developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

Personality: He is a man who does what he needs to. He will acquiesce to black mail and extortion to avoid trouble. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.

History: Born in the east his family was never financially stable. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The father sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his father's willingness to do anything to win. He has achieved small success as a Bookbinder.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions.

Description: She is a paragon of her species. She is larger and stronger than most Halflings. Her skin is dark but she possesses many grey ritualistic tattoos. She prefers to wear flannel. Her long black hair reaches down to her waist. Her face possesses mild wrinkles. Her smile is extraordinarily sincere though she does not smile often.

Personality: Friendly and accommodating she would invite many more into her home than her spouse would be comfortable with if they did not express concern about it. Dell is a bit of a follower. Usually she is manipulated by her sisters into helping them out, but recently she has become more of a free agent.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Her mother worked until she suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. She had to support her now crippled mother and took her mother's old job. She has been saving her money to try and buy her sister's freedom.

Motivation: To be a Stableman again; and her relatives are trying to arrange a marriage

Description: A plain young-adult woman, she wears a shirt and pants that are bristling with pockets overflowing with maps, compasses, and other navigational equipment. Her white hair is smooth and relatively long. She wears round tiny glasses practically rammed into her face.

Personality: Here is a woman who knows she is the smartest in the room. She talks down to others constantly. She does not mind isolation but does not hate company and attempts to receive them as best as possible.

History: She was born in the south, but her parents moved at a very young age to the east. In her 15th year, while out on a day-trip, she returned to find her hometown burning and destroyed. She found her mother impaled in their home, and her father beheaded. She saw the woman who walked out, and charged her in a blind rage. The woman easily evaded and defeated her, leaving her to live broken and terrified. She left for the south, certain she would find work there.

Motivation: Retire the richest woman in the south.
