History: Sold as a small child to a brothel owner, Robert was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Born to a poor family in the city she treasured whatever gifts she got. Through the years after Avice was born, her mother became increasingly distant from her family, instead choosing to pursue power in the west. Avice's mother didn't care for her much, and the feeling was mutual. She was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
