It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. She has done her darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

When money was particularly tight she was walking through alleys when she overheard a Performer hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. She made her way to the other competitor and parlayed her knowledge into a job. She now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: Ahvain hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his music career. He has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: He is a Maurezhi in disguise. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.
