Personality: Volen speaks confidently about a variety of topics with grace. She is clearly well-traveled and educated. The war was a terrible time for her, and Volen does not often speak of it. When she does, she does so with a strained expression and tears in her eyes.

History: She got into the Sage business at a young age. When she came of age, she joined a caravan that would eventually take her to the capital. She would practice along the way and, when she arrived, be apprenticed to a Sage. She inherited the family business which she has now maintained for 5 years.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Being born in the south, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the south for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way west. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Actor they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Painter, and he later adopted a second son.
