When his mother died while fighting dire rats, the young Fonkin began to lead the lost caravan. History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Navigator hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. By chance he met his sister recently and the two have been together since.
