History: Born in the west to a Carter, Qemuel learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He ran away from his former home and has been making his living as a Carter for the past few years.

Personality: He is calm most of the time but flees social interaction. He has a hair trigger and will fly into rage over the tiniest perceived slights.

History: Born to a Spice Merchant, his mother struggled to pay the bills. Through the years after Varis was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the north. Varis's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.
