History: Balam lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. At a young age he wooed the heart of his future spouse and the two had a long relationship before they wed. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Motivation: To unite with his brother; and doesn't want to be a marshal and was forced into it by his family
