History: She was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. In her 17th year, her parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Malquis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, she was adopted. She has recently attracted an admirer that believes she's playing hard to get.

History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.
