History: Daar was born into a poor family. Growing up, she dreamt of becoming a Expert, to bring honor to her family’s name. When she came of age, she applied for a position with her town's local guard, looking to work her way up via merit and eventually become a Expert in service of a powerful lord somewhere. She made a point of taking high paying jobs and getting most of it up front. Lacking all sense, she decided to go on an adventure. She picked a direction and started trekking.

History: Shanairla was born the youngest of three triplets. While studying, she fell in love. They married and had a daughter. After a long history of fighting, Shanairla and her spouse have recently divorced.

History: He is a Yochlol in disguise. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

History: He was raised in a desert tribe. He dropped out of school before completing his studies. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
