Description: This fat western man has a bulbous nose and is well dressed, but even with his fine clothing he looks run-down. His skin is also unnaturally pale. His hair is white and very short. His eyes are likewise violet.

Personality: He is soft-spoken, optimistic and speaks nonstop, as he rather likes the sound of his voice. His demeanor is somewhat feminine. A true patriot, Varis would do anything for his country. He is fiercely protective of his fellow citizens and foreign allies.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. In his 17th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. Recently a tribe of dire rats attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Varis fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: This woman loves poetry and to teach people poetry more than just about anything. Her home and work are filled with various knick knacks she has acquired through the years. She cares a great deal for her adopted teenage daughter.

History: Her history is one of pain. She was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves her parents kept. Brilliant and gifted she never wanted to apply herself. She has never given up on her poetry dream.

History: A studious child she never was much for a social life, not because she was unlikable, but because she did not seek it out. She has had some formal music training, and achieved minor success. She has built up a small fortune and can afford her own way.

Motivation: Obtaining odd cultural Halfling artifacts is her passion; and she desires power and/or immortality

Description: A well shaped man just over fifty, he wears tight fitting pants and leather jackets. He usually doesn't wear a shirt. He keeps his black hair in a pixie cut. He wears large thick round spectacles.

Personality: He swings through moods quickly. One moment he is cool and collected, the next he is carried away by passions. He never wears the same outfit twice, unless he absolutely has to.

History: He was born in the north. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered writing. One night he noticed a nearby shooting star which he hiked out to see where it landed. It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. if successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact
