The giants captured her, and made her a slave and general play-thing. She was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to her deformed appearance. She knows her nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but her.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. A serious injury left his father unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm father. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it.
