Personality: Hugh hangs on like a leech to those who appreciate him. It was this clingy personality that held back his writing career. His philosophy is that everyone needs a friend and as such shows hospitality towards all.

History: His history is one of pain. He was disowned by both parents and raised among the slaves his parents kept. Being born in the east, he completed his medical training abroad so as to avoid the war. He returned after the war having achieved medical proficiency. He was a general practitioner in the east for years, until he, through no fault of his own, lost a patient who had a very powerful family. Rather than risk reprisal he made his way north. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He would like to get married and retire; and he is greedy

Personality: She loves justice and goodness and right action. Anyone who does not fulfill this criteria perfectly will no doubt get a lecture from her. She is the most sanctimonious self-righteous Halfling in existence. She is able to make almost anything out of random pieces of junk.

History: She served in the navy to pay for her family's outstanding loans. Ostracized due to the martial powers of her oldest brother, she and her siblings struck out on their own. In the process these unassuming Halflings became a terror of the countryside. She has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.

Motivation: She uses money and sex appeal to get what she needs; and to find somewhere to settle down

Personality: She resents people who mock her appearance or her, so she has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. She is a bit of a xeno-phobe, disliking non-Halflings.

History: She got into the Tanner business at a young age. She was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. She has set out to sabotage the competition.

Motivation: She has passion for adventuring and risk.

Description: 3'4" and muscular, this eastern woman tends to wear a tan poncho over her likewise colored trousers and shirt. Her auburn hair is braided into rings. She has a tattooed face.

Personality: She likes to fabricate stories about her past exploits and how crazy she is, but in actuality she is rather bland. Her home and work are filled with various knick knacks she has acquired through the years. She cares a great deal for her adopted teenage daughter.

History: Symma lived on a farm with her mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Symma liked to wander the woods near her home when she was young, something she still likes to do at least once a week. She never liked modest clothing or shoes, so she would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and she developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. Due to her spouse's obsession with being a Miller they were divorced and she won custody of their daughter. She worked as a Miner, and she later adopted a second daughter.

Motivation: Regain custody of her daughter; and doesn't want to be a miner and was forced into it by her family
